MIDNIGHT REFLECTIONS

This work is intended to be an interactive musical piece being read through a mirror. The sheet music was originally transcribed normally and was then reversed. With a mirror being put in the place of sheet music, one must look through the mirror in order to comprehend the music. By reading through a mirror, a degree of separation is created, moving the piece further from the reader. It is meant to reflect how in hindsight, things seem clearer than they are in the moment. With different shades of blue getting darker as the piece moves forward, the concept of Midnight is emphasized.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Amy Rutherford
Amy Rutherford is a musician and artist originally from Drummondville, Quebec. Being born into a musical family. Amy was encouraged by her parents to take piano and vocal lessons from the age of 10. After performing a number of shows throughout her youth in her hometown, she decided to move to Montreal and pursue art and music at Dawson College. She is currently working on Play It Safe; a solo alternative rock project that has recently released a five-song EP titled "Achilles' Heel". She plans to attend Bishop's University and study popular music and theory, giving her more opportunities to keep writing, recording, and releasing original music in the coming years.
